Hestia Age Activity Centre

Hestia Age Activity Centre provides services for local people aged 60+ in the London Borough of Wandsworth, aiming to help them stay active, independent and healthy, while living in their own homes for as long as possible.

Activities are run over two floors in the building. On the ground floor we have a large main hall where most activities are held and a conservatory and a smaller activity room/meeting area. On the first floor we have the IT suite, Art/Games room and a garden area.

Tuesdays 10.00 – 12 noon. Refreshments served. A light lunch is shared on the last Tuesday of each month.St. Barnabas Church Hall, Lavenham Road, (Off Merton Road)

Specialist day centre providing a service to those over 65 with mild to moderate dementia 3 days per week and those under 65 with dementia 2 days per week. Entertainment and outings are provided by a number of clubs and organisations within Croydon and the surrounding areas.These can be easily accessed and more information can be obtained by contacting AGE UK or by calling the groups personally.
There are many different exercise classes available for the over 50's in the local area.These are easily accessible and other classes such as yoga and Tai-Chi can also be benefitial.
Leisure or free time, is a period of time spent out of work and essential domestic activity. It is also the period of recreational and discretionary time before or after compulsory activities such as eating and sleeping.
Lunch Clubs are available to elderly people where they can eat a cut price healthy meal aswell as socialise with other people who attend,who may feel isolated and in need of company.Other activities may also take place at these clubs,so look further to find any local clubs of interest.
