Hindu Society

The Hindu Society aims to encourage the Hindu culture/religion and to cater for the social welfare and recreational needs of Wandsworth residents. The Hindu Society runs a social day centre and provides vegetarian lunches, Hindi language classes, yoga classes and chair-based exercise classes as part of Tooting Healthy Living Initiative.

The Hindu Society also runs specific events, including religious ceremonies. Please call for further details of these and other non-regular events.

• The day centre is open on Thursdays between 11am and 2pm.

Day Centres enable older people to remain in the community by maintaining or improving the quality of life of the older person - or their carer - through social contact and therapeutic activities. Specialist day centre providing a service to those over 65 with mild to moderate dementia 3 days per week and those under 65 with dementia 2 days per week. There are many different exercise classes available for the over 50's in the local area.These are easily accessible and other classes such as yoga and Tai-Chi can also be benefitial.
Lunch Clubs are available to elderly people where they can eat a cut price healthy meal aswell as socialise with other people who attend,who may feel isolated and in need of company.Other activities may also take place at these clubs,so look further to find any local clubs of interest.
